Description:
The history of Omaha is unveiled in the Art Deco beauty of this 1930s train station. The Durham Western Heritage Museum features a number of exhibits, like the Byron Reed Coin collection, as well as hands-on exhibits. Features include sitting in actual Pullman train cars and walking through the Trans-Mississippi Gallery, which features a replica of the 1898 Exposition "Arch of the States" entry gate. Because the museum is housed in galleries throughout the Omaha Union Station, visitors also see the elaborate architectural beauty, which includes the bronze and copper accents that still decorate the now defunct train station.
